What should I believe about nutrition?
Nutrition is a very confusing subject. Try asking for a book on nutrition at a bookstore. Your brain might literally explode from all of the conflicting information that you are presented with. "No-Fat", "No-Carbs", and I'm pretty sure there is even a "No-Protein" diet. Sounds confusing. So what are we supposed to do? Where do we get the 'Tru' answers?
Here is another question for you. Do any of these diets last for prolonged periods of time? The short answer is....no. Our bodies need a full assortment of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and nutrients. To deprive them of any one major group, is not a long term solution.
How about procedures and pills? Does that even sound healthy to you? Here's the scenario:
People become overweight. They don't know why (with the misleading and confusing opinions out there, who would blame them?). Not a thing they have tried works to lower their weight. So they go to the doctor. He give them a 'safe' pill, or does a 'safe' procedure on them and, Wham! They are now losing weight. But are they 'healthy'? This is a question that will give you a lot of misdirected answers from dieticians, nutritionists and doctors. The problem that I have with these solutions is that they are not 'solutions'. They are patches. Bandages for what is actually an accountability issue. Like I have said before, we are not to blame for our ignorance. We are being misled. Misdirected.
still under construction, more to come...
